Creative Adoptions has made a commitment to never turn away a birth mother. At times, much
of our efforts towards cases which are extremely rewarding are not financially viable. For instance,
in 2003 we placed a baby with Down Syndrome who was in Cradle Care for the first year of his
life. Because he weighed a mere two pounds at birth, his original adoptive family didn’t feel they
could fulfill his medical needs. He underwent open-heart surgery at six months to repair two holes
in his heart. Thankfully, he is now in a loving permanent home with six other siblings. This is truly
a happy ending for a very special little boy. And, it is just one example of some of the challenging
cases we deal with at Creative Adoptions.
This case (and similar cases), demand significantly more time and resources than healthy
adoptions, and rarely generate funds. It is the successful completion of such cases that set us
apart from other agencies, and make us unique in the adoption arena. As a self-funded agency,
we are very motivated to look to the community for contributions, and maintain Creative Adoptions’
ability to provide services in our community.
Most of our fundraising efforts are applied to challenging cases, counseling support, the scholarship
program and our goal of a permanent home for the agency. We cannot continue to provide these
services without gracious donations. We need your help. Please contact the agency directly at
the number provided, or feel free to send your contribution directly to Creative Adoptions.
